Michael
White
Michael White's early years aren't well
recorded, but ccording to his book blurbs, White was a member of band The
Thompson Twins in 1982 (though TT fans are a little puzzled by this, as there is
no evidence of his involvement while the group had that name). He went on to
teach at d'Overbroeck's College, an independent school in Oxford, England. In
1991 he became a full time writer and has written 25 books, many being excellent
works of popular science.
White was awarded the Bookman Prize in the US for best popular science book of 1998 for his Newton biography, and has been shortlisted for the Aventis Prize. He is now based in Perth, Western Australia with his wife and four children.
You can find out more about White's writing at his website.
